Exposed: Mamdani’s Bot Army Traced to NYC City Hall

A covert network of bot accounts on X is systematically amplifying New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s anti-Israel rhetoric, and the digital fingerprints lead straight to City Hall. The World Zionist Organization (WZO) has obtained exclusive data from cyber experts showing that dozens, possibly hundreds, of automated accounts are boosting Mamdani’s posts, including his recent video accusing Israel of killing thousands and claiming he could not arrest Prime Minister Netanyahu. The IP addresses trace back to municipal infrastructure, raising serious questions about misuse of public resources for political propaganda.
How the Bot Army Operates
Cyber analysts hired by the WZO’s Department for Combating Antisemitism identified a cluster of accounts with identical behavioral patterns: 96% to 100% repeated sharing, no original content, and activity levels far beyond human capacity. Accounts like @SnoopyLima13 posted 955 tweets daily, all retweets. @CatCat2005689 managed 864. Many were created just days before analysis. The experts told The Jerusalem Post they are “100% sure” the IP addresses originate from City Hall, though they could not confirm who controls the accounts or whether officials directed them.
Amplifying Anti-Israel Hate
The bot network’s primary target is Mamdani’s own account and those of his allies. On July 27, Mamdani released a video accusing Israel of killing thousands and claiming he could not arrest Netanyahu. The bots gave it millions of views. This is not organic engagement. It is a calculated amplification machine designed to shape international opinion against the Jewish state. As Yifat Ovadia-Luski, head of the WZO’s Department for Combating Antisemitism, warned: “Today’s antisemitism begins online and then moves into the streets. This is a well-oiled influence machine making Jews feel less safe in New York and across the United States.”
Legal and Ethical Questions
New York law prohibits using public resources for political messaging. Mark Goldfeder, CEO of the National Jewish Advocacy Center, is referring the matter to the Department of Investigation and the Conflicts of Interest Board, demanding City Hall server logs. “City employees may not use public resources for political messaging, and public officials may not deceive the public they serve,” he said. The WZO has appealed to Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, the U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, to forward the findings to federal law enforcement.

The same bots that boost Mamdani’s lies also fuel the broader wave of digital antisemitism. The WZO is calling for a thorough investigation.
