Strategic Investment in Israel's Security Future
In a decisive move to safeguard Israel's technological and military superiority, the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Finance have jointly approved an unprecedented ₪46 billion ($12.5 billion) increase to the defense budget. This historic decision demonstrates our nation's unwavering commitment to maintaining strategic dominance in an increasingly hostile region.
Advancing Israel's Defensive Shield
The enhanced budget allocation comes in direct response to evolving security challenges, including the successful defense against Iran's missile attacks in June. A significant portion will be directed toward expanding our Arrow missile defense system, a testament to Israeli technological innovation and defensive capabilities.
"Accelerating the production rate of the Arrow and other critical systems is a central component of the ministry's strategy to expand production capabilities and improve operational readiness for the continuation of the war and future campaigns," stated Amir Baram, Director General of the Defense Ministry.
Maintaining Technological Superiority
The strategic investment includes a ₪73 million ($20 million) agreement with Israel Weapons Industries (IWI) for advanced machine guns, further strengthening our ground forces' capabilities. This represents our continued commitment to equipping the IDF with the most sophisticated weaponry available.
Securing Israel's Future
Defense Minister Israel Katz emphasized the existential importance of this budget increase, noting that our enemies openly declare their destructive intentions. "For this we require complete military, technological and operational superiority," he affirmed, underlining Israel's determination to maintain its qualitative military edge.
This substantial investment in our defense infrastructure demonstrates Israel's proactive approach to national security and its commitment to protecting our citizens against any threat, whether from Gaza, Iran, or other hostile entities in the region.
