Israel Strikes Iran: Why We Refuse to Bow to Terror
Early Monday morning, the Israel Defense Forces delivered a powerful message to Tehran. Israeli jets struck military targets in western and central Iran, dismantling a dangerous escalation from the ayatollahs. This was not just another round in a familiar cycle of retaliation. It was a deliberate, necessary, and righteous response to a test by a terror regime. Jerusalem simply could not afford to let it go unanswered.
The Beirut Spark and Tehran's Arrogance
The chain of events began in Lebanon. On Sunday afternoon, the Israeli Air Force struck Hezbollah targets in Dahiyeh, the Beirut stronghold of the Iranian-backed terror organization. This followed continued Hezbollah violations of the US-brokered ceasefire and came after clear warnings from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz.
Israel did not launch a full-scale operation in Beirut. It was a precise, measured strike against a terror group that has caused months of misery for our citizens in the North. Iran, however, chose to respond directly. Tehran threatened retaliation and, by Sunday night, Iranian missiles were once again heading toward the Jewish State.
Sirens in the North, Resolve in Our Hearts
Sirens sounded across more than 100 communities in northern Israel. By Monday morning, Yemen's Houthis also rejoined the fray, proving once again that the Iranian axis of terror operates as one coordinated network. Home Front Command restrictions are in place, including a ban on educational activities. No injuries were reported, thank God, but that is not the point. The real issue is the dangerous precedent Tehran attempted to set.
A Precedent We Cannot Allow
Had Israel allowed this attack to go unanswered, the message to Tehran would have been devastating. It would mean Hezbollah could continue ignoring any ceasefire, attacking Israeli soldiers at will, and any Israeli response could be framed by Tehran as a provocation. Iran would assume it could fire directly at Israel while American diplomatic pressure keeps Jerusalem's hands tied.
That is an impossible deterrence model. As the Prophet Ezekiel wrote,
